1.表示不理解，意為：這是為什么? 這是怎么回事? 如：
A：He says he won’t go with her? 他說(shuō)他不會(huì )同她去。
B：How’s that? 這是怎么回事?
A：I don’t think I shall be able to get to see himafter all. 我恐怕見(jiàn)不到他了。
B：How’s that? 為什么?
A：I’ve decided to sell the house? 我已決定把房子賣(mài)掉。

2. 用來(lái)詢(xún)問(wèn)看法或意見(jiàn)，意為：可以嗎? 行嗎? 滿(mǎn)意嗎? 你認為怎么樣? 如：
How is that for an apple? 吃個(gè)蘋(píng)果怎么樣?
