　　1. endanger vt. 危及，危害

　　The polluted air in the city is badly endangering the health of the residents.

　　城里被污染的空氣正嚴重地危及居民的健康。

　　2. limb n. 大樹(shù)枝

　　注意limb的結尾b是不發(fā)音的，類(lèi)似的詞還有comb，tomb，你還能舉幾個(gè)例子嗎？

　　branch也是樹(shù)枝的意思，他們的區別就是limb指的是粗大的樹(shù)枝，branch指的則是比較細小的樹(shù)枝。

　　3. lack n. 缺乏

　　后面常跟介詞of

　　The lack of rain aggravated the serious lack of food.

　　由于干旱少雨,缺糧問(wèn)題更加嚴重。

　　lack也可以作動(dòng)詞用。

　　He lacks courage.

　　他缺乏勇氣。

　　4. ambush n. 埋伏

　　The soldiers were lying in an ambush.

　　士兵們埋伏起來(lái)。

　　5. plight n. 困境

　　He is in a sad plight.

　　他陷入了悲慘的境地。
