The Dragon Boat Festival,also called Double Fifth Festival,is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth moon of the lunar calendar.It is one of the most important Chinese festivals,the other two being the Autumn Moon Festival and Chinese New Year.
The origin of this summer festival centers around a scholarly government official named Chu Yuan.He was a good and respected man,but because of the misdeeds of jealous rivals he eventually fell into disfavor in the emperor's court.
Unable to regain the respect of the emperor,in his sorrow Chu Yuan threw himself into the Mi Low river.Because of their admiration for Chu Yuan,the local people living adjacent to the Mi Lo River rushed into their boats to search for him while throwing rice into the waters to appease the river dragons.
Although they were unable to find Chu Yuan,their efforts are still commemorated today during the Dragon Boat Festival.
端午節的由來(lái)
端午節,又稱(chēng)為五五節,因為端午節是在農歷的五月五日,是三個(gè)重要的中國節慶之一,其他兩個(gè)分別是中秋節和農歷新年.
這個(gè)節日的由來(lái)是古代中國有一位博學(xué)多聞的官吏屈原,他是一位愛(ài)民而且又受到尊崇的官吏,但是由於一位充滿(mǎn)嫉妒的官吏陷害,從此在朝廷中被皇帝所冷落.由於無(wú)法獲得皇帝的重視,屈原在憂(yōu)郁的情況下投汨羅江自盡.
由於對屈原的愛(ài)戴,汨羅江畔的居民匆忙的劃船在江內尋找屈原,并且將米丟入汨羅江中,以平息汨羅江中的蛟龍.即使他們當時(shí)并沒(méi)有找到屈原,但是他們的行為,直到今天在端午節的時(shí)候,仍然被人們傳頌紀念著(zhù).

端午節(農歷5月5日)是中國古老的傳統節日，始于春秋戰國時(shí)期，至今已有2000多年歷史。

端午節吃什么?“粽包分兩髻，艾束著(zhù)危冠。舊俗方儲藥，羸軀亦點(diǎn)丹�！倍宋绻澆豢刹怀缘拿牢妒澄锞褪囚兆�(tsung-tse)。
粽子tsung-tse：Glutinous rice filled with meat, nuts or bean paste and wrapped in bamboo leaves. It is associated with Dragon Boat Festival with historical meaning.The custom of eating zongzi is now popular in North and South Korea, Japan and Southeast Asian nations.
端午節喝什么?“櫻桃桑椹與菖蒲，更買(mǎi)雄黃酒一壺�！倍宋绻潎L試一下雄黃酒吧。Adults drink Xiong Huang Wine, which can fend off evil spirits.
端午節玩什么? “鼓聲三下紅旗開(kāi)，兩龍躍出浮水來(lái)。棹影斡波飛萬(wàn)劍，鼓聲劈浪鳴千雷�！倍宋绻澴顟暗墓澞烤褪琴慅堉��！癉ragon boat racing is an indispensable part of the festival, held all over the country. As the gun is fired, people will see racers in dragon-shaped canoes pulling the oars harmoniously and hurriedly, accompanied by rapid drums, speeding toward their destination.
端午節戴什么?端午節最有特色的飾物就是香包(sachet)。小孩佩戴香包，傳說(shuō)有避邪驅瘟之意。On Dragon Boat Festival, parents also need to dress their children up with a perfume pouch. They first sew little bags with colorful silk cloth, then fill the bags with perfumes or herbal medicines, and finally string them with silk threads. The perfume pouch will be hung around the neck or tied to the front of a garment as an ornament. They are said to be able to ward off evil.
端午節掛什么?“不效艾符趨習俗，但祈蒲酒話(huà)升平�！睊彀~菖蒲hang branches of moxa and calamus around the doors of their homes 和懸鐘馗像display portraits of evil's nemesis, Chung Kuei都是為了驅疾避兇，討個(gè)吉利。
