　　yes, yes, yes, it?s a new day, it?s a different day, and it?s a bright day! and most importantly, it?s a new beginning for your life, a beginning where you are going to make new decisions, take new actions, make new friends, and take your life to a totally unprecedented level.

　　in your mind’s eye, you can see clearly the things you want to have, the paces you intend to go, the relationships you desire to develop, and the positions you aspire to reach.

　　you can hear your laughters of joy and happiness on the day when everything happens as you dream. you can see the smiles on the people around you when the magic moment strikes. you can feel your face is getting red, your heart is beating fast, and your blood is rushing all over your body, to every single corner of your being!

　　you know all this is real as long as you are confident, passionate and committed! and you are confident, you are passionate, you are committed!

　　you will no longer fear making new sounds, showing new facial expressions, using your body in new ways, approaching new people, and asking new questions.

　　you will live every single day of your life with absolute passion, and you will show your passion through the words you speak and the actions you take.

　　you will focus all your time and effort on the most important goals of your life. you will never succumb to challenges of hardships.

　　you will never waver in your pursuit of excellence. after all, you are the best, and you deserve the best!

　　as your coach and friend, i can assure you the door to all the best things in the world will open to you, but the key to that door is in your hand. you must do your part. you must faithfully follow the plans you make and take the actions you plan; you must never quit and you must never fear. i know you must do it, you can do it, you will do it, and you will succeed! now stand firm and tall, make a fist, get excited, and yell it out:

　　ladies and gentlemen , good afternoon! i?m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is “youth”. i hope you will like it , and found the importance in your youth so that more cherish it.

　　first i want to ask you some questions:

　　1、 do you know what is youth?

　　2、 how do you master your youth? youth

　　youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life h means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. this often existsin a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . nobody grows old merely by a number of years . we grow old by deserting our ideals.

　　years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul y , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .

　　whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ?s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what?s next and the joy of the game of living . in the center of your heart and my heart there?s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .

　　早上好！

　　今天我的主題是更加文明地迎接世博會(huì )

　　眾所周知，下一屆世博會(huì )將于21日在上海舉行。我們家鄉將有成千上萬(wàn)的游客，那么我們應該如何表現我們的禮貌呢？當然，我們所有人都喜歡表現出我們的良好舉止，所以我們應該注意我們的日常習俗，中國是一個(gè)歷史悠久的傳統國家。年輕人應該向世界展示我們的`中國文化和良好的舉止。說(shuō)起來(lái)容易做起來(lái)難，我們大多數人都不知道。有時(shí)他們到處扔垃圾，紅燈時(shí)過(guò)馬路。雖然他們知道這些行為不好，但他們仍然這樣做。我希望我們每個(gè)人都能參加這個(gè)社會(huì )實(shí)踐。我們應該好好表現自己，尊重我們的老師等等，努力向世界展示我們最好的禮貌。

　　我認為，我們在日常生活中應該遵循以下三點(diǎn)：

　　第一：保持我們的衣服干凈整潔，過(guò)多的化妝對我們來(lái)說(shuō)看起來(lái)不自然。

　　第二：要遵守古語(yǔ)：看不見(jiàn)邪惡，聽(tīng)不見(jiàn)邪惡，說(shuō)不出邪惡。

　　第三：我們應該對別人有禮貌，尤其是對外國人。當世博會(huì )到來(lái)時(shí)，會(huì )有很多外國人，我們可以向他們展示友好，我們可以向他們展示方法，我認為我們的笑臉也是必要的。

　　展示良好的禮貌迎接21世紀的世博會(huì )。

　　英語(yǔ)素質(zhì)教育的教學(xué)中，優(yōu)化課堂教學(xué)模式是重點(diǎn)，也是實(shí)施素質(zhì)教育主渠道。然而，要實(shí)現優(yōu)化課堂教學(xué)，這就要求我們教師應做到優(yōu)化教學(xué)目標的制定，優(yōu)化課堂教學(xué)的設計，優(yōu)化教學(xué)方法的組合等，通過(guò)優(yōu)化課堂教學(xué)模式，以達到實(shí)施素質(zhì)教育的目的。課前演講就是其中一例。課前演講是現階段高中英語(yǔ)課堂教學(xué)中被普遍采用的一種課前熱身活動(dòng)，是集中學(xué)生注意力，激發(fā)學(xué)生學(xué)習興趣，提高學(xué)生聽(tīng)說(shuō)能力，發(fā)揮學(xué)生主觀(guān)能動(dòng)性，使其積極參與課堂活動(dòng)的重要途徑。也是當前以教師為主導，學(xué)生為主體的新型教育教學(xué)理念在常規課堂教學(xué)當中的有力體現。

　　1.從思維角度看

　　根據美國著(zhù)名認知教育心理學(xué)家布魯納的.認知—發(fā)現學(xué)習說(shuō)，以培養探究性思維方法為目標，學(xué)生利用教材或教師提供的條件自己獨立思考，自行發(fā)現知識，掌握原理和學(xué)習規律，在求知過(guò)程中逐步獲取自己的知識。課前演講的過(guò)程就是學(xué)生積極參與，自主學(xué)習的過(guò)程。前期選材中，學(xué)生在其所閱讀過(guò)的報刊或雜志當中有針對性地選出一篇難度適中，文本內容健康向上的英語(yǔ)文章。這不僅要求學(xué)生平時(shí)養成良好的閱讀習慣，勤記筆記，勤寫(xiě)讀書(shū)心得；善于利用英漢或英英詞典等工具書(shū)來(lái)查閱一些文章中出現的生詞或比較陌生的表達。很好得做到“有疑必查，有查必記，有記必用”，在循序漸進(jìn)的學(xué)習過(guò)程中不斷積累英文單詞的讀音、釋義以及用法，為日后提高閱讀技能水平奠定基礎。此外，學(xué)生準備課前演講材料的有意識行為活動(dòng)也能在一定程度上激發(fā)學(xué)生的想象思維和聯(lián)想能力。讓學(xué)生透過(guò)無(wú)生命的文本，去深層次感受文章的血肉和靈魂，從而與作者產(chǎn)生思想和感情上的共鳴。

　　2.從心理角度看

　　中學(xué)階段的學(xué)生一般處于青春發(fā)育期，生理發(fā)育同時(shí)，心理也在不斷變化與發(fā)展。筆者發(fā)現在平時(shí)的課堂教學(xué)過(guò)程中，大多數高中學(xué)生已經(jīng)拋棄了初中生的魯莽和冒失，他們在思想上存在過(guò)多的顧慮，高傲和自卑并存，不喜歡踴躍回答老師提出的問(wèn)題，而是選擇保持沉默，用眼神和動(dòng)作來(lái)回應老師，這無(wú)疑會(huì )對學(xué)

　　once upon a time, a weenie ant was walking on his way. as he was walking, suddenly he felt the ground shaking terribly. he looked around with his paranoid eyes and saw an elephant walking right behind him. quickly, the little ant covered himself with dirt, but one leg was unfortunately left out. a sparrow saw everything, so she flew down with the purpose of teasing the ant: “hey, chicken! watch out your leg, it’s out!” the ant felt d1x-0.html" target="_blank" >embarrassed at first but then calmly responded: “ shi…i am going to trip that elephant.”

　　right now, i’m standing on this glamorous stage. but everything here reminds me of is a not so fun memory. around this time last year i was in nanjing competing in another speech contest. that was the first time for me to be in such a large event. of course the pressure i was under was immense too. after a sleepless and stressful night, i went onto that stage without the feeling in my legs. that speech turned out to be horrible. i don’t remember how i get down from there, but i do remember afterwards i just wanted to find a hole to hide in just like the ant in the story. back at my school, it took a long time for me to recover. thanks to all the help i got from my special friends. my confidence was restored. after rounds of giving speeches and answering tough questions, i am here today. from all that i’ve been through i’ve learned that a good future is based on a forgotten past, if i want my life to go on well i have to let go of my past failure. so today, with out fear, i am tripping my elephant again.
