　　My summerholidaybegun on July 7th.I love summerholidaybecause I dont have to go to school and I can enjoy myself with my friends.I often spend the mornings doing my homework.And I always watch TV in the afternoon at home because its very hot outside.And in the evening,I go swimming with my family and then hang out with my friends.I love swimming very much.

　　我的暑假7月7日開(kāi)始。我喜歡暑假，因為我不用去學(xué)校，可以和朋友玩。我經(jīng)常在上午做作業(yè)，下午在家看電視，因為外面很熱。傍晚，我和家人去游泳然后和朋友去逛街。我很喜歡游泳。

　　My plan for August is travelling.I travel with my family every summerholiday.I like travelling because I can go to different places and meet different people.Sometimes I make good friends during the journey.And its very sad to say goodbye to them when the journey ends.

　　我八月份的計劃是去旅游。我每個(gè)暑假都和家人去旅游。我喜歡旅游是因為我可以去不同的地方認識不同的人。有時(shí)候我在旅途中交到了好朋友。旅途結束和他們告別的'時(shí)候我覺(jué)得很難過(guò)。

　　At the time when Fan, a nobleman of the state of Jin, became a fugitive, a commoner found a bell and wanted to carry it off on his back.

　　春秋時(shí)侯，晉國貴族智伯滅掉了范氏。有人趁機跑到范氏家里想偷點(diǎn)東西，看見(jiàn)院子里吊著(zhù)一口大鐘。鐘是用上等青銅鑄成的，造型和圖案都很精美。小偷心里高興極了，想把這口精美的大鐘背回自已家去。

　　But the bell was too big for him.

　　可是鐘又大又重，怎么也挪不動(dòng)。

　　When he tried to knock it into pieces with a hammer there was a loud clanging sound. [/en]

　　他想來(lái)想去，只有一個(gè)辦法，那就是把鐘敲碎，然后再分別搬回家。小偷找來(lái)一把大錘，拼命朝鐘砸去，咣的一聲巨響，把他嚇了一大跳。

　　He was afraid that someone will hear the noise and take the bell from him, so he immediatelystopped his own ears.

　　小偷著(zhù)慌，心想這下糟了，這種聲不就等于是告訴人們我正在這里偷鐘嗎?他越聽(tīng)越害怕，不同自由地抽回雙手，使勁捂住自已的耳朵。

　　To worry about other people hearing the noise is understandable, but to worry about himself hearing the noise (as if stopping his own ears would prevent other people from hearing) isabsurd.

　　“咦，鐘聲變小了，聽(tīng)不見(jiàn)了!”小偷高興起來(lái)，“妙極了!把耳朵捂住不住就聽(tīng)不進(jìn)鐘聲了嗎!”他立刻找來(lái)兩個(gè)布團，把耳朵塞住，心想，這下誰(shuí)也聽(tīng)不見(jiàn)鐘聲了。于是就放手砸起鐘來(lái)，一下一下，鐘聲響亮地傳到很遠的.地方。人們聽(tīng)到鐘聲蜂擁而至把小偷捉住了。

　　Three pastors in the south were having lunch in a diner. One said, You know, since summer started I’ve been having trouble with bats in my loft(閣樓) and attic at church. I’ve tried everything----noise, spray, cats----nothing seems to scare them away.

　　Another said, Yes, me too. I’ve got hundreds living in my belfry(鐘樓) and in the attic. I’ve been had the place fumigated(熏制) , and they still won’t go away.

　　The third said, I baptized(洗禮) all mine, and made them members of the church...haven’t seen one back since!

　　三個(gè)南部的牧師在一家小餐館里吃午飯。其中的一個(gè)說(shuō)道：“你們知道嗎，自從夏天來(lái)臨，我的'教堂的閣樓和頂樓就被蝙蝠騷擾，我用盡了一切辦法----噪音、噴霧、貓----似乎什么都不能把它們趕走�！�

　　另外一位說(shuō)：“是啊，我也是。在我的鐘樓和閣樓也有好幾百只。我曾經(jīng)請人把整個(gè)地方用煙熏消毒一遍，它們還是趕不走�！�

　　第三個(gè)牧師說(shuō)：“我為我那里的所有蝙蝠洗禮，讓它們成為教會(huì )的一員......從此一只也沒(méi)有再回來(lái)過(guò)�！�
